Together Whilst Apart

Following the recent announcement of a third national lockdown, Wesley Methodist Church will remain closed until further notice (with the exception of Leigh Wesley Pre-school). This decision has been made with a heavy heart, but we look forward with hope to a time when we can join together in worship in the church building again. In the meantime, our online services will continue – please see the details below, including the start of Zoom services alongside those on YouTube. Although the building is closed, the church is still active and we continue to support our community in any way that we can – please do not hesitate to contact us if you require any support.

Face coverings are now mandatory in places of worship. Please wear a face covering when in the church building. If you do not have one, there will be some available. If you are exempt, please just let one of the stewards know.

We are initiating a number of ways to continue to support each other and the wider community during the coronavirus pandemic; ways to stay together whilst apart.

  • Joining together in Worship

We will be taking part in worship together but apart, by all watching Sunday Worship on BBC1 on a Sunday morning. The times change weekly so please keep an eye out!

Memory Worship:

Online Memory Worship services are available each month. You can find an archive of the videos from April 2020 onwards on Julie’s YouTube Channel by clicking here.
The latest Memory Worship online service information and link is available below:

January 2021 – “In God we Trust” Is the official motto of the United States of America and it is also the theme of our January Memory Worship service. God doesn’t just jump right in and enter our lives, he waits to be asked, He waits for us to believe and place our trust in Him. Many thanks once again to Alleyn Court for permission to share the talents of your young people with our congregation. Whether we are on calm or stormy waters, God’s love for each one of us is beyond measure and He longs for us to talk to him, to pray and to spend time with him. Jesus is waiting patiently to hear from you today.

Whilst this part of the church building is not open, we are able to accept any donations when we are open for services or during Private Prayer (Wednesdays 11am-1pm). If you are unable to attend the church but would still like to help, monetary donations of any size would be very gratefully received. Bank details and the address to send cheques to can be found on the Southend Foodbank website.

Thank you so much for all you are able to give.
